Job Description

Collaborates with: General Manager , all departments, contractors, freelancers, interns,
external partners.

 

Core Responsibilities 
HR Compliance & Policy Management
– Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies aligned with South African labour
laws.
– Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (contracts, leave, disciplinary
procedures).
– Maintain audit-ready HR documentation and employee records.
– Advise management on compliance risks and mitigation strategies.

 

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
– Manage recruitment processes for full-time staff, contractors, and interns.
– Coordinate onboarding programmes to ensure smooth integration.
– Support youth and intern development initiatives.
– Partner with managers to identify workforce needs and succession planning.

 

Employee Engagement & Culture
– Design initiatives to strengthen workplace culture and employee satisfaction.
– Facilitate workshops, team-building, and engagement surveys.
– Act as a point of contact for employee relations and conflict resolution.
– Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organisation.

 

Performance Management & Development
– Implement performance tracking systems and appraisal processes.
– Support managers in setting KPIs and monitoring progress.
– Identify training needs and coordinate learning opportunities.
– Encourage career growth pathways for employees.

 

HR Reporting & Analytics
– Build dashboards to track HR metrics (turnover, engagement, compliance).
– Provide quarterly HR reports to CEO and leadership team.
– Use insights to refine HR strategies and improve efficiency.

 

Workforce Planning & Growth
– Align HR initiatives with business expansion into Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania.
– Support organisational design and future workforce readiness.
– Explore partnerships with HR networks and professional bodies.
Compensation Structure
– Probationary Stage: Focus on assessing capability, cash flow alignment, and role
fit.
– Permanent Stage: Market-aligned compensation for HR Administrator in Cape
Town, reflecting added responsibilities and proven performance.
– Clear pathway for growth within the role.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Educational Background
– Diploma or degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, or
Business Administration.
– Professional certifications in HR (e.g., SABPP, CIPD, SHRM) advantageous but not
mandatory.

 

Technical Skills
– Proficiency in HR platforms/tools for contracts, onboarding, leave, and performance
tracking.
– Strong knowledge of South African labour laws and HR compliance standards.
– Ability to prepare and maintain HR documentation, policies, and audit-ready records.
– Competence in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace for reporting and
communication (MindCiti Platform as an Example).

– Ability to explain HR policies and processes to diverse contributors.
– Strong collaboration skills to coordinate with managers and external stakeholders.

 

Experience
– Minimum 2–3 years in HR administration or HR support roles (especially working in a
growing SME environment).
– Experience in recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement initiatives.
– Exposure to compliance processes and workforce planning is a plus.
– Experience supporting youth or intern development programmes advantageous.
